Something special happened in January 2001!!! Mr. Rene and Yanase-sensee were able to meet in person when Yanase -sensee and his family visited Mr. Rene and his students in Holland! A week later, Mr. Rene visited Mrs. Goble's class in the USA! The reality of the learning became even greater still. Later that year, during summer of 2001, Mr. Yanase visited Cannelton.
