Joliet Post Office

Between 1901 and 1903 a new post office was built in Joliet. The building was an example of the Renaissance Revival and combined a variety of architectural styles. Originally two stories an addition was added on to the rear in 1931 but the front façade was left untouched. This façade is made of a pale limestone and the entrance steps are formed from granite. The Old Joliet Post Office was designated a national landmark in 1981.
