Tourist Office Veterans' Day (formerly known as Armistice Day): Every November 11 since 1938 the USA commemorates the end of WWI each year now on Nov. 11, because Nov. 11, 1918 was the last day of WWI. It is a day where we give thanks and honor to the many men and women who have sacrificed for our country in time of strife and to rededicate ourselves to preserving our freedom and keep peace around the world.
