NEWSLETTER - Volume 14 - June 2003
=====================================

Hello to all of our participants! This is sort of a short newsletter...but we hope very interesting for you...

School is ending for many of you, and we know you are quickly getting your reports finished. If you need to send them later than we previously discussed that is fine, just e-mail us (e-mail Rene at r.de.vries@tip.nl ) in the next week or so to let him know.
All of us here at City Quest will be taking vacations in the next five weeks...but not at the same time. So, if you will e-mail Rene in the next week and make arrangements with him we can work out new dates.

NEWS! NEWS!

Cohost teacher Joan Goble is going on a special study tour of...JAPAN! She will be a part of a group of teachers from the USA (200 total) going there for the Fulbright Memorial Foundation! If you have not heard of it, you can read about it at: www.iie.org  and click on Fulbright, then go to Educators...there you will see a link to the Fulbright Memorial Fund area. Joan's trip starts in Tokyo on June 16, staying there for two days, then going to Kyoto and Hiroshima, then going to Hokkaido for the remainder of the trip (two weeks). Joan will have a homestay with a Japanese family the last portion of the trip. It will be a unique experience and she will give a full report for City Quest when she returns!

Cohost teacher Rene de Vries will be going on a vacation trip to Africa! He will make a full report on his return... sounds a promising trip!

Hajime Yanase will let us know about his travel plans as well. **If all works out, Joan hopes to meet up with Hajime and his family while in Hiroshima or Kyoto! Keep checking here for the reports!

If you have a special trip to a special city coming up...or if your own city or town is having a special celebration this summer, we would love to hear about it...please email us at cq@digitalschool.nl  to let us know.

If you did not get a chance to check out the special web site that Cannelton Elementary Media Club put together about the special tree called a "Moon Tree" you can check it all out at:
http://www.siec.k12.in.us/cannelton/moontree/moontree.htm

* Again, if you need ideas for your reports on your town, try visiting other reports that have been turned in to City Quest. http://www.cityquest.digitalschool.nl/indexparticipants.htm

We believe that your city, town, or village is special and we want to help you tell others about how special it is to you and why. Please e-mail us if you have any questions or concerns.

Joan, Rene, and Hajime
